Park City Visitors Center
In a bold move to redefine tourism in Park City, the Park City Chamber of Commerce has unveiled its new brand, “Mountainkind,” to promote sustainable tourism. Dan Howard, Vice President of Communications for the Chamber says “Mountainkind” is more than a catchy phrase or new logo; it’s a movement—a call to action. It deliberately focuses on attracting respectful and conscious visitors who align with Park City’s values.”
At its core, “Mountainkind” embodies a set of behaviors expected from visitors. “It has to do with recycling, bringing your own water, leaving no trace and cultivating a mindset of responsibility among tourists.”
The Park City Chamber contacted Stardust Sustainables and asked us to put the Mountainkind logo on Stardust bags, which are now available at the Visitors Center.
Peter Murray, from Stardust Sustainables says “The Mountainkind bags are a significant way to reduce plastic waste in Park City. And they have a huge ripple effect when visitors take the bags home and continue using them for years. They help promote Park City as the ski town that is making real progress on healing the Earth. Most people in town use reusable bags, so Stardust bags also help our visitors feel like locals. And when you feel like you are part of a community, you want to take better care of it. And ultimately, that is what Mountainkind means.”
